README: command not found

Maybe Your $PATH variable doesn't contain the default paths? echo $PATH should give something like:

[root@server ~]# echo $PATH
/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/root/bin

If it's empty, You may set the PATH variable with this command

export PATH="/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/root/bin"

On CentOS possible default full paths are:

/usr/share/gallery3/bin/README - from package: gallery3
/usr/share/pear/data/symfony/bin/sandbox_skeleton/README - from package: php-symfony-symfony

You may install the required package with command yum install {package}

On Debian possible default full paths are:

/usr/lib/eso-midas/13SEP/systab/bin/README - from package: eso-midas
/usr/share/doc/libnet-sip-perl/examples/bin/README - from package: libnet-sip-perl
/usr/lib/ace/bin/MakeProjectCreator/README - from package: mpc-ace
/usr/share/doc/r-cran-qtl/examples/bin/README - from package: r-cran-qtl
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/vistrails/db/bin/README - from package: vistrails

You may install the required package with command apt-get install {package}
